Abstract

Introduction: Cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) are conditions that cause a transient or permanent brain disorder due to a pathological process of the blood vessels of the brain; they are considered a functional and disabling disorder that modifies the lifestyle of the person due to the alterations they cause at the personal, social and family level. These aspects lead to the need for nursing care in the stages a person with this health problem goes through.
Objective: to regularize significant aspects of disability as a health problem in CVD in the context of nursing.
Method: A systematic review was conducted to analyze documents published from 2010 to 2023 with a clear methodology and theoretical referential selected from January to May 2023. The keywords identified in DeCS and Boolean operators were used: "disability" OR "Cerebrovascular disease" AND "Health" OR "Nursing." The search was performed in the SciELO, PubMed, Google Scholar, Dialnet, and Index databases. The flow diagram (PRISMA) was used to contribute to the search.
Conclusions: For nursing professionals, it is essential to generate changes in the health of people with disabilities by guiding their CVD to achieve benefits such as reorganizing their aspirations in shorter periods of adjustment or recovery. It is essential to improve the quality of life, to help and inform and educate about the effects of the disease and physical disability on day-to-day activities.
